Through the Noise #343
We haven’t delved much into the world of the arts and the nonprofits that support them but we’re thrilled to branch out with our guest from the Houston Arts Alliance. John Abodeely is the CEO of the Houston Arts Alliance and we’re also joined by Ed Spitzberg, the Principal of Spitzberg Advisors who has provided strategic planning and other services to bolster the staff of small arts organizations. As a former nonprofit executive, Ed Spitzberg understands what nonprofits need — and don’t. While it may not always be possible to hire a full-time staff member to solve a problem, many consultants bring a wealth of nonprofit experience and can help address your problems on a project basis. Join us for this look into a local arts organization and how they make it work.
John Abodeely is Chief Executive Officer of Houston Arts Alliance (HAA). Abodeely served formerly as Acting Executive Director of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, a White House advisory committee on culture. The Houston Arts Alliance ensures Houston is a culturally vibrant place to live, work, and visit by supporting artists, arts organizations, cultural disruptors, arts innovators, and emerging creatives.
Ed Spitzberg is the founder of Spitzberg Advisors, where he is a strategy consultant for nonprofits, with a particular focus on arts, humanities and youth development organizations. Ed has been an executive director, a fundraiser, and a corporate guy, at organizations including Sitar Arts Center, Afterschool Alliance, Arena Stage, and the Walt Disney Company.
As former nonprofit executives and managers, Spitzberg Advisors brings their experience within the nonprofit world to every strategic consulting engagement.
